Oktoberfest
Oktoberfest is more than just beer tents and fairgrounds — it’s a living ritual, a tapestry of Bavarian tradition woven into music, costume, and celebration. In Munich’s Wiesn, locals and visitors step into a space where past and present meet: dirndls and lederhosen worn with pride, brass bands filling the air, families gathering at long wooden tables, rides glowing against the autumn sky.
This ongoing project is about looking beyond the surface spectacle to capture the layers of tradition that make the festival unique. Through the lens, I try to hold on to the gestures, the colors, the small details that tell stories of heritage and belonging — a toast between strangers, a dance in a crowded tent, a child’s laughter on the carousel.
Wiesn is both celebration and continuity: a reminder that traditions are not frozen in time, but carried, shared, and reimagined each year.
